How to Promote Your Site with Blogger

Posted by Jackie | Affiliate Marketing | Monday 22 June 2009 11:41 am

Whether you’re promoting a squidoo lens, niche site, or even an authority site creating backlinks is an important part of the process. Building backlinks can seem overwhelming and confusing, but it doesn’t have to be. There are many many places you can use to build backlinks to your sites. We’ve talked about using Google knol, and Wet Paint today we’re going to talk about Blogger.

Yep, it’s time to start a blog. Here’s a quick video that will walk you through the steps of creating a blogger blog.

That video has covered the basics of creating, let’s talk about optimizing your blog and using it for links.

The video recommends that you make your blog specific to a campaign, however, for promoting squidoo lenses I actually like to create a general blog where I can simply post all of my new lenses instead of having to create a new blog for each campaign. Adding content over time allows your blog to gain a little authority which gives your links a little more authority as well.

I created a “how to” blog on blogger. Now no matter what the topic I can generally twist it into a “how to” something and write a post on my how to blog which leads them back to my lens for more information.

Go ahead and take a look at my how to blog.

Backlinks from Blogger

As you can see I have used keywords as the anchor text links to point people back to my lenses for the real information ~ these posts are just short snippets that will provide links back to my lens or “money page”.

You can also use the sidebar to create links back to your lenses or any site you have created on this topic.  You can see this in action on my how to blog in the sidebar under “how to sites I love”.

To create this area in your sidebar you can go to the customize link at the top of the page. It will open up an area where you can add “gadgets”.  You want to find the Link List gadget. There are a couple different link gadgets, you want the LINK LIST. This will allow you to put the url of the site you want to link to, as well as the keyword anchor text you want people to click on, the other linking gadgets will just give you a place for the url, you don’t want that. ?

Here’s the 4 basic steps:

1.    create blog either with keywords (if you’re doing one for each campaign) or a general topic (if you want to do one you can just keep adding to)

2.    Create short posts with a link back to your lens using keywords as the anchor text  of the link pointing to your lens.

3.    Add link list to create a “blogroll” in your sidebar pointing to your sites. This is another quality backlink to your site.

4.    if you’ve done one blog you can add to, make sure you come back and add short posts for each lens you finish ~ you can also add them each to the sidebar link list.

That’s it. 4 simple steps to create a blogger blog to use for building backlinks to your site.

You’re putting a lot of effort into writing articles, lenses and blog posts. Now you can make them even better by implementing the tips and strategies outlined in this report. They’ve made writing faster, easier and more fun for me.

If you have any questions feel free to ask in the comment section ~ I’ll do my best to answer any questions you come up with.

Don’t Just Build a Web site, Build a Business and a Future from What You Know and Love

Posted by RustiJ | Affiliate Marketing | Monday 19 January 2009 3:47 pm
By James Covell

I can’t tell you how long I’ve been looking for the “right thing” to come along to help me build an online business that can generate enough income and profit that would allow me to stay at home and have the time to spend with my family and friends.

I’m sure this is the same conception that a lot of people have when they start thinking about an internet business.

Like you, I’ve heard so many get rich quick schemes, I felt sick. I felt this way because I always thought I had found one that would work – no way. I’m out all that money that I spent on some of these products which ranged from simple ebooks to full blown “plugin and reap the rewards” websites.

I always felt that I was one to perform the necessary research and due diligence on these offers, but found that even I fell for scams, inadequate and poorly written ebooks – all of which just fed right into the author’s money cauldron. Sheesh… what was going on?

How can I not fall into the traps and scams AND not to follow their suit? Sorry, but I was looking for something that I can start online that would have quality content, about something I love which means I could spend a few hours a week updating with some “passion” and build a web site that would provide income.

Over the course of a couple of years, and after all of my misguided ventures with some products, I think that I’ve spent over $1,500. What do I have to show for it? Well, on the positive side, I would say “knowledge” and an instinct on not only spotting GRQ (Get-Rich-Quick) schemes, but to have the control to disregard and remove them from my emails, sites I visit and in my head of course!

Now all of this had left me leery of trying any new opportunities. I had worked in an industry where word-of-mouth was gold. Having references from other people where they can either recommend something and share their experiences or just say “stay away” is invaluable to me.

Let’s first take a step back and ask what it would take to build a website.

• If you’re like me, I do not know HTML or any web design tools like Dreamweaver or FrontPage, etc. None-the-less, you still need something to help build the pages, images, and content for your web site.
• Secondly, you need a company to host your site – costs vary depending on the location and services.
• You also need to register a domain name – more money.
• Subscribe to services that will help market your web site and get them submitted to the search engines and directories.
• And what about things like initial set up fees, email accounts, access and tracker statistics, shopping carts, credit card processing, blogging, and much more?

Overwhelming isn’t it?

I found something online then called Site Build It!. But, I at first I didn’t pursue it. A few months later I was talking with a friend of mine and he brought up Site Build It! (or SBI! for short) as something he discovered and used to build an online business. Wow – word-of-mouth.

After a lengthy discussion, I went back to SBI! and read all of information and case studies as well as a variety of some nice videos they have.

I still took a couple of weeks looking at it and finally made a choice. Quite simply, SBI! is something that I’ve never seen before and couldn’t believe that they would have so many tools available to help me build my own web site.

It was nice to actually compare SBI!’s feature set with Yahoo! Web Hosting Pro, Verisign Web Business Expert and Microsoft bCentral Professional. The difference is striking.

The simple driving force behind using SBI! is to follow their C-T-P-M (Content-Traffic-Presell-Monetize) methodology. In fact, they have a 10-day action guide that is easy to follow and shows you exactly how to use all of the invaluable tools including their forum. Here’s a free, "inside" look at the Guide that SBIers actually use.

The Site Build It! system showed me how to build my web pages to rank high in the major engines so I can get as much free traffic as possible without spending a cent on marketing.

And you can do this too...
Go ahead and give SBI! a try. It's completely risk free.

SiteSell.com will give you a FULL refund within 30 days if it's not for you. And once you've started and see the potential of the idea, you'll probably get so excited you won't be able to sleep...

The Pros and Cons of Affiliate Marketing

Posted by RustiJ | Affiliate Marketing | Wednesday 12 March 2008 2:03 pm
by Aisha Ahmed

Making money online has now become a common practice among people across the globe. You don’t need to be highly skilled to be successful in this business. All that is needed is an ambition to make money and a passion to keep trying until you’re at the top. Affiliate marketing is only one of the many ways of making money online.

If you are reading this article, you must have done some research on the basics of affiliate marketing, what to expect and how to succeed in this highly profitable business. For those who have no idea what it is, online affiliate marketing is a form of marketing in which the marketers are rewarded for every customer or visitor they bring to the merchant’s website through their marketing campaign.

If handled well, publishers can bring huge traffic to the merchant’s site thereby increasing their sales and getting commission for every sale or lead they refer. There is now a sea of opportunities for website publishers and bloggers out there including different kinds of affiliate programs, pay-per-click advertising and other similar tools to make money online.

However, like any other business affiliate marketing has its pros and cons. Let’s discuss some of the pros first. Affiliate marketing is easy for people who already own some websites on different topics. Even for those who don’t have any websites yet can lay out a plan, think of some product they want to promote, build a website around that topic and start making money through different affiliate programs.

Associate programs provide different kinds of banners and text links, and the latest ‘widget’ tools that can make any website look good. In fact with these tools you can design your website in such a way that the advertisements stand out from the rest of the site and may generate instant clicks or sales. The best thing about affiliate marketing is that you don’t need to have your own products to sell.

All this sounds great but there are some drawbacks of affiliate marketing as well that should be considered. If you have recently entered this business you must be aware that it’s not easy to decide which affiliate program is best suited to the services you offer at your website. Although there are people who are always available to help you out, you need hands-on experience to learn different marketing lessons and then change your strategy with time and patience until your website starts generating revenue.

All this takes time and you need to be extremely patient if you have decided to become an affiliate marketer. It is not magic that converts visitors of your website into potential customers. Different website layouts and themes have to be tried, multiple marketing campaigns have to be launched to see which one comes up with the best results, and above all to learn how other successful marketers are doing it money has to be invested.

These disadvantages will not come in your way if you are determined to make money online. My advice to you is: never lose hope, always be honest, do what you like and you will be successful. Best of luck!

Google Adword - Limit Your Spending Now

Posted by RustiJ | Affiliate Marketing | Tuesday 12 February 2008 3:21 pm
Is Google Snatch all that it is hyped out to be? Well after going through the over 100 page ebook, it is definitely something worth considering. Click here to see the official site. Will you get rich overnight using the Google Snatch methods, of course not! You know that there is no such thing as a get rich quick program, and if you do find a program claiming this, it is most likely a scam.

There are many solid principles being taught in this system where you will create a very sound business that will provide you with income for years if not decades. Many people are spending way too much in advertising and Google Snatch helps to solve this problem by offering you a way to create income without having to spend any money on advertising like pay per click on google adwords.

The reality is that paid advertising can get expensive, particularly if you are a beginner so it is wise to look at ways of getting free traffic. Yes, it may take a bit longer at the start but over time your profits will be far greater since you have no advertising costs.

The program developer, Latif, in fact closed his adwords account and relies solely on free advertising methods to generate his online fortunes. Here are a few things you will learn from this system:

- How you can capitalize on the small niches and how the gurus are not revealing their secrets on how they make cash in these underexploited niches.

- Why you need to stay focused on proven, winning money making formulas and stop jumping from one program to another.

- How you can at last stop going broke from using pay per click services like Google adwords and MSN Adcenter.

- Making sure that you select the right keywords, this is a critical element to getting as much free traffic as possible, yet most people go about this the entirely wrong way.

- How to get sky high click through rates from the search engines from clicks that do not cost you a penny.

- How affiliate marketing may be the best way to make money espescially for those that are new to the internet marketing game.

- Why being on the first page of the search engines may not be good enough anymore - this is shocking to say the least.

- How to create websites that keep your visitors engaged and interested in what you have to say and offer.

- Learn how to dominate multiple positions in the search engines, imagine having your sites in the #1, #3, #5 and #6 positions all in the first page. A surefire way to get an explosion of traffic and sales.

- Never be concerned again about breaking even since all sales made will be pure profit as you have no overhead ad costs.

- The right way to take advantage of high respected authority sites, these are sites that have PR 8 or 9 in some cases.

- Discover the way to get thousands of sites promoting your products for free and without you having to beg them in any way. Talk about serious leverage.

- Dominate any niche you select regardless of the level of competition, yes, even a newbie can swoop in and grab a big chunk of a hyper competitive niche with these advanced free traffic strategies.

- ...much more

Look, the system covers a ton of things you can right away at no cost to start getting free traffic in days. It comes with a full 8 week money back guarantee too. Again make sure you follow the advice given, read the ebook twice or even more to make sure you do not miss anything. Apply it and in months you could have enough income to replace your day job if that is what you desire. Click here to learn more about Google Snatch.

Affiliate Marketing Success Test

Posted by RustiJ | Affiliate Marketing | Thursday 7 February 2008 3:07 pm
Author: Richard London

Affiliate Marketing is simply the selling of products or services for others for an agreed upon commission. The concept is ridiculously simple; but, the successful practice of the task can try the patience of a saint. I cannot begin to count the number of times I have run to my computer to check my stats for the day, only to find I have had no sales, nobody signed up for my mailing list and I only had a handful of visitors to my website. Then I checked my email and waded through the offers from other affiliate marketers that claimed to have made thousands of dollars that day and if I would only sign up, I could have enjoyed the same success. I have to admit I have succumbed to such messages several times, especially when I am having a particularly bad day.

If that statement sounds at all like you; you may need to re-think your measure of affiliate marketing success. Let's take a little test to put it into perspective. I am always scouring the internet for what other marketers are doing. What are the hot programs; what is and what isn't working for others? Unfortunately or fortunately; depending on how you look at it, the major message I see time and again is the number of people that are failing and considering quitting or moving on to a different program.

I am a firm believer that internet marketing levels the playing field for everyone in the world. The internet offers untold opportunities to make a considerable income from the comfort of your home. Nowhere in the previous statement did I see the word easy! Somehow, somewhere, the concept of working from home has been equated with easy; easy, this business is not. If it was easy, everyone would be rich and there wouldn't be anyone left in the work force, that's not a pretty picture either. So if you're not making millions are you still successful? I think, yes, you are successful! You have taken the initiative to change your situation and done something to move toward a goal. So if I'm not making any sales, how can you think I'm successful? Well, let's take a little test and examine that, shall we? Ready, pencils up.

First and foremost, if something isn't working, it simply isn't working; it doesn't mean you have failed if you try something and it doesn't work. You need to find out what didn't work and fix that and move on from there. We know for sure there are real people that have made and continue to make a lot of money from home; that's a fact, so; we know for sure that affiliate marketing works. Somewhere between zero dollars per day and, let's say for arguments sake, five thousand dollars per day, there is a figure you believe would make you successful in affiliate marketing. Once you decide on that figure, you have to ask yourself "what are you willing to do to make that amount of money?"

Now, put your pencil on the table in front of your keyboard, right in the middle. Now, move it to the right side of the keyboard; good. Now move it to the left side of the keyboard; good. We have just demonstrated success. There is a message here, trust me! This little test shows that you and only you dictate your future. The past is past and cannot be changed. Once you moved the pencil to the right or left, you could not go back to the middle again because it was in the past. The present is here right now and it is a result of what you did in the past. At present the pencil is on the left side of your keyboard.

In the future, you will decide when and where the pencil moves. If decide to move the pencil (start a business) you will have successfully moved the pencil (started a business). If you move that pencil through your monitor screen, you will have successfully moved the pencil; but had an outcome that was not so desirable. The same goes for your business. If you get zero sales you may think you have failed; when actually you only had an unfavorable outcome.

Put your successes and failures into perspective. I'm not Polly Anna enough to say never, ever quit; what I am saying though, is put these things in their proper perspective. If after careful evaluation you decide a program is not for you; then it's just not for you. If you know deep down in your gut that the program you are a part of is good and it is something you can see yourself doing; then stick with it.

You have already demonstrated success in taking the action required to get a business going. When something produces an undesirable outcome make an adjustment and try again. Soon, you will be taking small successful steps with the desired outcome, as you get better, the big steps will get bigger and the sales will come. OK, pencils down! You passed.
